While some essential oils are food-grade, ingesting them without proper knowledge can be harmful for example Eucalyptus essential oil is considered extremely poisonous when ingested and can be fatal . Always consult a qualified professional before considering internal use of any essential oil.
Is eucalyptus oil safe to use around pets?
Eucalyptus oil can be used around pets with some caution. While cats and dogs can be sensitive to essential oils, issues typically arise if they ingest large amounts or are exposed to very concentrated forms of the oil. It's always a good idea to use eucalyptus oil in well-ventilated spaces and avoid direct contact with your pets.
In our personal experience, we have two cats and two dogs in the house, and we use eucalyptus essential oil in our diffusers every day without any issues. However, if you're concerned or have a pet with known sensitivities, consulting your veterinarian for advice is always a good step.
